Rob Sheppard, D.Min, LPC, LMFT
Dr. Rob Sheppard and his wife, Reva, are co-owners and therapists of University Counseling Center in Fort Worth, TX. Their specialties are in marriage and family relationships, and helping clients recover from trauma in their life.
Rob formerly served as a pastor for seven years, and then he taught at Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU) in Keene, TX for thirteen years; six of those years he was chairman of the Religion Department. Following his retirement from SWAU he continued as Adjunct Professor of Psychology for another ten years. It was after his retirement that he established the full-time private counseling practice in Fort Worth.
Pastor Ernie Pyle
Pastor Ernie Pyle holds a bachelor’s degree in theology from Southwestern Adventist University, where he specialized in church growth principles. He demonstrated those principles successfully while serving as a church pastor in Oklahoma.
Beginning in 2003 and for six years Pastor Pyle held a Friday night Bible study group in his home. Weekly attendees were treated to an in-depth study of different books of the Bible, always with the focus on God’s great love for mankind. Dr. Roger Doss
PDr. Roger Doss holds a doctor of philosophy degree in child counseling from the University of North Texas State University, as well as, a masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education. He has been the Executive Director of the Family Counseling Center in Fort Worth, Texas, the last seven years Prior to becoming Executive Director, he was the clinical director at the Family Counseling Center for twenty years.
As a counselor, Roger deals with adults, couples and children. He works with individuals who are struggling in relationships and those who’ve experienced trauma. He helps teens and their parents, as well as, younger children who are experiencing issues. In his doctoral studies, he studied with Play Therapy pioneer, Dr. Garry Landreth. In addition to his counseling, he teaches Bible, math, science and physical education in the Center school.
Roger is a Licensed Professional Counselor and, in addition, supervises counseling interns, is acertified teacher. Having worked with many clients who are dealing with the Child Protective Services arm of the Department of Health, he's experienced in helping families in crisis.
In Memory of Ernie and Sue
It is with a sad heart we add this information to the site. We have lost Sue in July 2019, and Ernie Pyle in January 2022. Both Sue and Ernie were instramental in establishing Knowing God Misistries, both this site and ministry, along with Rob and Reva Sheppard and Roger Doss.
They will both be truely missed. They were a vital part of the daily operation of this minsitry and there is no one that can step in and fill the void.
